Scrip Program
THE ESSENTIALS AND HOW YOU CAN
BENEFIT FROM IT
BSP scrip
program purchases gift cards from
national and local retailers at a
discount and in turn sells these gift
cards to parishioners at face value. The
profit from the sales directly benefits
the parents of Aquinas Catholic School
students and Blessed Sacrament Parish.
BENEFITS TO FAMILIES
At Blessed Sacrament Parish, scrip
benefits parents of Aquinas Catholic
School students directly by crediting to
the students’ tuition costs one half of
the discount the vendor gives to the
parish. This aspect is unique to Blessed
Sacrament Parish. The purpose is to help
parents afford tuition and anyone,
friends, neighbors and relatives can
designate a student as the recipient of
the tuition credit.
BENEFITS TO THE PARISH
The Parish is committed to more than
$600,000 of support to the Aquinas
Catholic School system. Any revenue
created by scrip sales means less demand
on the parish budget.
USING SCRIP
Scrip in the form of a gift card or
certificate is just like cash or a debit
card. When you make a purchase, present
the card to the sales associate who
scans the card. You receive a receipt
which indicates the remaining unused
balance on the card.
PURCHASING SCRIP
The BSP scrip program is run entirely by
volunteers. Scrip can be purchased after
each weekend Mass and at the parish
office during regular business hours.
PARTICIPATING RETAILERS
Blessed Sacrament Parish has on hand
gift cards from approximately 60
national and local retailers. Nearly
everything one wishes to buy can be
purchased through the BSP scrip program:
gas, groceries, hardware, restaurant
meals, flowers, books, hotel/motel rooms
and car washes---the list is nearly
endless. Major retailers include Best
Buy, Festival Foods, Kwik Trip, Quillins,
Walgreens, Walmart and Woodman’s.
Through Great Lakes Scrip we can
order gift cards on a weekly basis from
over 600 participating retailers.
OUR SUCCESS
The Blessed Sacrament Scrip program was
started in 1999. In 2008, over 150
families purchased in excess of $850,000
of scrip which resulted in a nearly
$40,000 benefit to the Aquinas Catholic
School families and the Parish.
We invite you to share in these
benefits and to participate in “painless
giving” to Blessed Sacrament Parish. |
